Middlebury's New Cross Street Bridge

All of us at Swift House Inn are looking forward to this Saturday, October 30 and the festivities with the opening of Middlebury's Cross Street Bridge. It has taken 30 years to approve, fund and build the much needed bridge. And thanks to Middlebury College which funded half of the project. Festivities start in the afternoon and include entertainment, food and of course a ceremony. The festivities have been planned by Doug Anderson of the Town Hall Theater so the"show" will be great. In addition for the children the Spooktacular takes place on the Village Green at 2:00. Busy and fun weekend in Middlebury.

Foliage In Middlebury, Vermont

The leaves are still providing a great show of colors in Vermont. Although up in the Green Mountains the trees are rapidly giving up their leaves, the lower elevations and the Champlain Valley area are just about at peak. Here at the Inn we have been busy with Middlebury College Fall Family Weekend and the busiest weekend in the state Columbus Day Weekend. Now with those events behind us we still have some rooms available for the next couple of weeks of Fall! Chef Rob in our Jessica's Restaurant has been very busy with his Fall Menu. His most popular dishes being the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake, Spicy Thai Peanut Pasta, New York Strip Steak and the baked Stuffed Artichokes.
